Don't be a Twit and get on Twitter -___-

Image
Twitter, like many other platforms of social media, is an outlet for expression. Whether those expressions come in the form of ideas, opinions or inquisitions Twitter is the over encompassing place to bring all these things together. In the instance of journalism, Twitter has seemingly become the go-to site for journalists to get their articles read. Journalists have used Twitter to depict their personalities in a way that can not always be done through journalistic writing. Ronan Furrow is someone who I have seen a lot on the platform. Having an audience on Twitter can be the only thing you need to start a movement and that is something he did with the #metoo movement he helped start. Angela Rye is a big personality that I always see using Twitter to get points across and clarify things she has said on CNN. She is a political commenter that has rose to prominence on the web for her uninhibited opinions on the political climate. Aside from journalist and commenters on social med...

This Post is Abstract

Filming anything requires a lot of planning and structuring. Since this process involves taking a concept and bringing it to life through images filmed on a device, an intense planning process is the best way to go about this. During this stage of the assignment, everyone in the group would throw out what their definition of the topic we were given was. The group was assigned “abstract”. This meant that they had to create a video that communicated something about who they were through the use of the theme. The planning was pretty easy at first since everyone was filled with ideas and different understandings of what the theme was. All four members of the group put in an idea about what their part in the video will consist of, and filming locations were discussed. Through the time the group spent discussing the video, not much was getting done and class time consisted of everyone just putting out different ideas. This was frustrating to members because time was running out and not...

Dreamweaving in Dreamweaver

Everyone in the world comes across a website at some point in their life. Whether they are going there to find information or get something done, they use the website as a guide. When we got assigned this website assignment I was excited because it would become my opportunity to get myself on the web in a raw way. What I mean by that is, while I am on the internet through social media and other things like that, I am not there without the middleman being Facebook or Instagram. This assignment put me on the web as me, entirely. I plan on using my website as a way to promote the kind of work and experience that I have. While my blog is a place where people can come to know a deeper side of my mind, the website allows an overview of the kinds of things I can do. I plan on having it be a virtual portfolio of the kinds of PR work I do as well as photoshop and article writing. In the future when I am applying for jobs, the website can be a vehicle I use to promote my past experience and ...

wikiWhat? No. wikiHow!

WikiHow is the main stage for people to get their way on how to do things, across to others. You know how to do something better than anybody else? Well make a wikiHow page and prove it. A central hub for DIYs and all other types of tasks, wikiHow is the place to go if one wants to learn how to make a face mask while replacing a tire and whisking up some eggs to go with some cake mix. With the inclusion of up to 18 available languages , wikiHow makes it so that the world is able to do anything. It is also an interesting place to simply explore. Before beginning an article on the website it is beneficial to randomly click around the website to experience articles made by other people. This way one can see how other people structure their own tutorials. It is also good to get an idea of what stuff is already out there, and therefore unavailable as an option to you. When starting a Wiki, it is important to search up the topic one is interested in writing about. Wiki does not all...

Are You More Than Your Profile?

For many, social media has had a constant presence in their lives for many years. There were the simpler days when Myspace was just a character portfolio, mostly detailing a person's personality based off of their page customization's . Those days have changed, creating a world with little to no limit for expression. Social media has integrated itself into the lives of so many,  so much so that a person’s presence on it can become a staple of who they are.
